What should we do about Pasadena’s housing problems?

I’m curious about what you guys’ ideas might be for solving Pasadena’s housing problems. What do you think we should do and how should we do it?
I know in a couple of years there will be a tremendous number of new apartments going up around Old Town Monrovia. That mixed-use thing is all the rage. It’ll just be a couple more stops on the train…
