check out localharvest.org. They have lists of hundreds of CSAs all over the country.

Did you ever try out this CSA? Any news on other CSA’s in the southern California area? I would think there are some in the inland empire (Redlands, Mentone, etc) but cant really find anything online. I am tempted to try it out. I have friends up north in Oregon who have CSAs all around them.

Thanks for the heads up, at least I have somewhere to start and order from a CSA!

Word on the street is that there’s a guy at the Hollywood farmers’ market that raises and slaughters animals. I would like to find someone even closer or willing to deliver. (I’m mostly vegetarian, with a little straying, but the guys in my house like their meat and I’d rather feed them animals raised and slaughtered humanely.)

Do you know of a meat CSA? I’m having such a hard time finding locally, humanely grown meat. Argh.

I don’t think I could give up the farmers’ market for a CSA. Oh, how I love the sensory overload of a Saturday morning!

It looks like it’s $133/month for weekly boxes and $66.50/month for boxes every other week — here’s the pledge form: http://www.tierramiguelfarm.org/forms/2007%20CSA%20Pledge%20Form%2020070522.pdf

This pickup is at Caltech — I am not sure if they have other Pasadena pickup spots or if this is the only one.

My friend likes the CSA even more than going to the farmers’ market. I’m still a farmers’ market person myself so far, although this is looking very tempting…
