Summer movies in South Pasadena
Jul 25th, 2007 by Jill
The South Pasadena Preservation Foundation is showing free movies outside on the lawn next to the historical museum on Saturday nights. Here’s a link to the schedule online, and here’s a close-up:

Can we go see The Wizard of Oz?
What a great idea! Maybe we should do the picnic the same day.
these are great pics! mind if i put one on my blog and link to you?
Picnic + Movie = awesome
Hi Jennifer, I’d love that!

So, as long as you let folks know that the pictures are by me (”Courtesy of Jill Davis Doughtie” under each picture, or something similar), feel free to use them all you like. I love to see them in circulation.
[...] outdoor movie series is about half over. These lovely photos are courtesy of Jill Davis Doughtie of http://www.eyelevelpasadena.com. Check her blog to see more. The free movies are on Saturday nights at 8 pm. [...]
When are you starting Thigh Level Pasadena?
Unfortunately, I do not think I will actually start that blog. At least not any time soon.
I ADORE outdoor movies! They do them a few times a year in the park around the corner and I STILL haven’t been. We almost went to a drive-in in Sac on Friday night (haven’t been since our Portland days), but got waylaid. But J’s promised me that once we head to our Colorado land, he’ll rig up a portable outdoor movie set-up for me (even if it’s just a white sheet for the screen) so I can sit outside and watch movies under the stars.
It’s my dream to stay HERE someday (and it’s not far from our land!):

Hey Jill -
How do I add the links to my recent posts on my new site design?
I could give you my password if you wanna fix it for me.
E-mail me!
Cool - What a fun way to spend a summer evening.
YAY! I’m back in your Pasadena Neighbors section
Woo hoo!!
Not enough pictures of me. Next.
Thanks for fixing my website. You’re a sweetheart.
Has blogging malaise gripped Eye Level? I’ve posted a meme to help you get back in the groove if you are so inclined…

OOPS. Sorry you had already been tagged. Popular gal!
Glad to see this idea is having a revival. 50 (?) years ago there was a wonderful import shop at the SE corner of Colorado and Orange Grove called the Balinese Shop. They showed movies on their outdoor wall in the summer. I fell in love with Cabinet of Dr. Caligary and many Eastern European animated cartoons and short features there. I doubt that Jim Stevens (who owned the store) is still around. Best wishes.
