A visit to Robin’s, part 1
Sep 6th, 2007 by Jill

During the heat wave, we went to Robin’s.

We found Aaron’s name on the menu. And Steve Haderlein’s name. And Paul Little’s name.

I wish I had an inflatable beer bottle.
(To go with our inflatable Godzilla.)
Robin was there, and he came over and said hi. By then my camera was put away and I was eating my salad and some of Gavin’s ribs, and I was also feeling a little star struck, so I didn’t get a picture.

I like Robin’s. Been there a couple of times, its one of the stopping points when we are in that area of Pasadena. The burgers are good, the ribs are pretty awesome. I still think Jake’s Roadhouse in Monrovia is the standard for BBQ ribs and such is the one to beat. Just my 2 cents.
Best restaurant in Pasadena.
That Steve Haderlein burger is pretty sexy.

I heard that Robin was the creative genius behind Jakes Roadhouse and that the owner was Robin’s chef for many years. I guess they say that imitation is the most sincere form of flattery. All kidding aside, they both have good ribs, but I’ll give the nod to Robin’s. I love Aaron’s Patty Melt. Been eating it for years, many before Aaron claimed it. Great restaurant, great music and a great vibe. Maybe he’ll name something after Gavin or the bloggers. I doubt that you’ll see a Steve Madison burger.
The Steve Madison Burger would just be an empty plate.
