William Gibson will be reading from his new novel, Spook Country, at 7:00 p.m. this Friday night at Vroman’s.

Once More With Feeling, the Buffy the Vampire Slayer musical episode, is coming to South Pasadena’s Rialto theater in September.

(I realize this might not be everyone’s cup of tea, but I am one of those people who keeps the soundtrack to this episode in my car, so I felt compelled to announce it.)

• What: Special screening of SiCKO to benefit Community Health Alliance of Pasadena (CHAP), followed by a panel discussion about the state of healthcare in California

This Friday night, April 6, Friends of Iranian Culture at Caltech will celebrate Nowruz (Iranian New Year) with dancing, music and food. The celebration starts at 6:00 p.m. and is free and open to the public. Caltech Today has the details.
