This apartment building is on the move.

Half of it is parked in this public lot on Union across the street from Vroman’s.

It looks like a giant doll house.

Here’s the front close up. Look, you can see all the mailboxes by the front door.

The other half is still at its original site on Union near Los Robles getting ready to move later this week.

Heritage Square house from across the street
After reading Todd Ruiz’s posts about the Heritage Square development project (Of Struthionidae struthio, Change of heart), I wanted to know where the development site was. I looked up the address (the city’s Heritage Square web page lists it as 760 N. Fair Oaks Avenue) and went there with my camera. One of the local business people said they thought the site stretched along the east side of Fair Oaks Avenue from Orange Grove to Painter.

Cahill Center construction in progress
The Cahill Center for Astronomy and Astrophysics is being built at Caltech on California just east of Wilson. The Caltech Astronomy department has a Cahill Center construction webcam here.
