Terri Lloyd‘s show, Form and Disfunction, opened tonight at The Majestical Roof. Gavin and I stopped by and met Terri Lloyd herself.

I missed The Majestical Roof dog fashion show, but I made it there in time afterwards to see this dressed up little dog:
I also met Val of Portraits by Val (“specializing in oil portraits of pets and children” 818-822-4466) who had some of her pet portraits on display.

Last night we visited Pasadena Jazz Institute and The Armory Center for the Arts.

Walking into the Pasadena Jazz Institute

Paul Lines greeted us at the door and showed us around
There was a large performance space with lots of cozy little tables, and there were separate bar, pool and patio areas where you could hear the music and watch it on screen, but where you could also move around and socialize more or enjoy a little more privacy.

Then we rode the free Art Night shuttle over to the Armory.
Local community ensemble Kan Zaman was there playing classical Arabic music.

Pasadena Art Night is Friday, March 9 from 6-10 p.m.
Every six months in March and October, Pasadena’s museums and art schools open their doors to the public for free, and free shuttles take people from venue to venue. It’s a pretty neighborly feeling event. It’s fun to ride around in buses with people from all around town and look at art.

Oh, how I love The Majestical Roof. Last night they had an opening for one of their artists, Vanesa Martinelli, so Gavin and I stopped by and had wine in the hidden away courtyard and listened to live music and met Vanesa (who has been painting since she was four and who grew up surrounded by musicians – check out her website or stop by The Majestical Roof and check out her paintings in person).
